Men’s Basketball: Bray leads Oakton to league win

Paced by a double-double from Giovanni Bray (Hamiton High, Milwaukee), the Oakton men’s basketball team defeated Prairie State 69-62 on Saturday.
The freshman guard tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds in the victory, which improved the Raiders to 5-17 overall and 2-5 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate play. Bray notched five assists as well.
Women’s basketball
Oakton dropped its third consecutive game, falling to Prairie State 52-30 on Saturday.
The loss dropped the Raiders to 14-7 overall and 3-4 in ISCC play.
Indoor track
Competing in the 600-meter run, Oakton’s Martin Chavez (Maine West) placed fourth among 22 runners during the Tadd Metzger Invitational, held at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.
Chavez finished the race in 1:24.76, barely missing out on a qualifying bid (1:24.70) for the NJCAA Nationals.
