Incumbent Lincolnwood Village Board member John Swanson closed out election night Tuesday, April 9 a mere seven votes ahead of opponent Ron Cope in the race for one of three open spots on the Lincolnwood Board of Trustees, but by Wednesday those results had flip-flopped.

EVANSTON Democrat Jan Schakowsky will return for an eighth term as Illinois’ 9th District congresswoman after defeating Republican challenger Tim Wolfe by a wide margin in Tuesday’s election. With all 538 precincts reporting, Schakowsky had 186,594 votes to Wolfe’s 95,289. Lou Lang (D-16th) Tuesday faced his first opponent in years and was on his way to soundly defeating Republican Vincent Romano in a district that includes parts of Skokie, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove and Rogers Park in Chicago Lang captured more than 68 percent of the vote with 64 of 77 precincts reporting. A steady and significant number of voters have turned out to polling places in Cook County, but rain this afternoon and evening could hurt voter turnout.
