Lincolnwood clerk question goes down to defeat

A measure that had the strong backing of Village of Lincolnwood officials nonetheless was defeated as voters by a 2-1 margin rejected the proposal to change the village clerk office from an elected position to an appointed one.
With all 11 precincts counted, the ballot question garnered 1,484 no votes to only 793 for approval, a 65.2 percent disapproval.
