LINCOLNWOOD — A staple in the Lincolnwood community since 1958, Airoom, Builders, Architects and Remodelers, has made-over more than 12,000 homes in the Chicago-area during the past five decades.
The family-owned business, started by Burt Klein and later passed on to his son, Michael Klein, in 1997, has remained attentive to the evolving demands of homeowners throughout the decades by continually shifting the focuses of its services to accommodate its local customer base.
Responding to the needs of customers who are staying in their homes increasingly longer, Airoom recently launched Revive Bath and Basement, a sister-brand that focuses on smaller-scale remodeling work.
While Airoom is a full-scale design company specializing on comprehensive home remodeling, Revive gives customers the option to remodel just one or two small rooms in the home, letting them get an updated look without paying the full cost of a total home-remodeling project.
“We had thought about launching a brand like Revive for many years because our business model didn’t suit the smaller interior-only remodel projects,” said Danielle Klee, general manager of Revive Bath and Basement. “Bathrooms and basements are areas of the home that people want to remodel to make their homes more current, and our customers were asking us to offer the same type of service on a smaller scale.”
Revive follows the same “design-build” approach that underlies Airoom’s business philosophy to offer customers a one-stop place for everything required for a successful home-remodel.
Revive architects begin small-scale projects by working with the client to find the right design to suit their home. Then a team of engineers and construction managers work together to complete the remodel in a six-week period.
If the work isn’t finished by the end of six weeks, Revive offers to refund five percent of the contract price.
“Bathrooms and basements are areas people want to remodel to make their homes more current,” Klee said. “They want to use a trustworthy company like us to help them but they don’t need Airoom’s full-scale of architectural services.”
Airoom bathroom designers plan every detail of a remodeling project from start to finish, ensuring that everything from the grout color to door hinges and cabinet hardware complement each other to create a well-designed bathroom that is also functional.
“It’s about taking that small space and making the most out of it,” said John O’Doherty, marketing manager for Airoom. “We’re still running the Airoom classic projects, but we’ve had a great deal of people call on us for our design expertise from a bathroom standpoint.”
