Man, 67, charged with attempted murder in Lincolnwood incident

An Elmwood Park man involved in an argument last week with an ex-girlfriend at a Lincolnwood Shell station is in custody and charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing a gun during the argument.
Reynaldo Arrieta, 67, of 2330 74th Ave., Elmwood Park, is being held at the Skokie Courthouse on $500,000 bond, charged Feb. 13 with attempted murder and aggravated assault.
Accorgint to Lincolnwood police, they received an emergency call about a fight outside the Shell gas station at 6400 N. Lincoln Ave. According to reports, Arrrieta approached an ex-girlfrend and another person with her at the Shell, displaying a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun. According to witnesses, Arrieta threatened to shoot the other man and then fired one round. Arrieta attempted to fire the gun a second time but the gun malfunctioned.
Police arrived shortly after and took Arrieta into custody. No one was injured in the incident. A handgun was recovered at the station.
