The following incidents were listed in the official reports of the Lincolnwood Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest by police does not constitute a finding of guilt; only a court of law can make that determination.
THEFT
Maria Alvarez, 65, 4449 N Sawyer Ave., Chicago, was charged with theft following her arrest at 1:04 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Lincolnwood Town Center Kohl’s. A security agent told police Alvarez took jewelry valued at $46, removed the price tags, put the jewelry in her pocket and left the store without paying for them.
Paula D. Szymczak, 55, of 6504 N. Richmond Square, Chicago, was charged with theft following her arrest at 5:55 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Lincolnwood Town Center Kohl’s. A security agent told police Szymczak put $22 earrings in a coat sleeve and left the store without paying for them.
