1. Belle Plaine, a folk-Americana quartet, performs at 8 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Ethical Humanist Society Second Saturday Coffeehouse, 7574 N. Lincoln Ave. (at Howard), Skokie. Sharon Appelquist, Lisa Crowe, Dennis Harpole and Anthony McKinney will play guitar, fiddle, mandolin and harmonica. Admission of $8 includes beverages and pastries. 2. Family Fest will be held from 6-11 p.m. Aug. 10 and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Aug. 11 on the grounds of St. Stephen Parish, Spruce and Prospect streets, Des Plaines. The event includes live entertainment, with the headliners Rick “Elvis” Saucedo at 9 p.m. Friday and Triple Shot at 8 p.m. Saturday. 4. The 37th annual Armenian Fest will be held from 5-10 p.m. Aug. 11 and noon-8 p.m. Aug. 12 on the grounds of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church, 6700 W. Diversey Ave., Chicago. The event includes authentic Armenian food, including appetizers, lamb, chicken and luleh kebabs, and homemade delicacies and pastries. The Hye Vibes will perform Armenian music, and there will be children’s games, a silent auction, raffles and more. The festival will take place rain or shine. Admission and parking are free.
