1. “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown” will be presented by the James Downing Theatre through March 4 at the John Waldron Arts Center, housed at Edison Park United Methodist Church, 6740 N. Oliphant Ave., Chicago. Performances are at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays; 1:30 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $20; $15 for students and senior citizens. 2. “Die Fledermaus” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23-25 and 3 p.m. Feb. 26 in Northwestern University’s Cahn Auditorium, 600 Emerson, Evanston. Strauss’ most famous operetta is updated to the Art Deco 1930s and sung in English in a new production. Tickets are $20; $8 for students. Call (847) 467-4000.

3. An artists’ reception for “Continuing the Tradition,” works by more than 36 artists who carry on the legacy of the Park Ridge Art Colony, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 26 at Kalo Foundation’s Iannelli Studios Heritage Center, 255-57 N. Northwest Highway, Park Ridge. Younger children must be accompanied by an adult. The exhibit is on display through March 9. Admission is free. 4. A poetry reading will be presented by Nikky Finney, recent National Book Award winner, at 6 p.m. Feb. 29 at the Shorefront Legacy Center, 2010 Dewey Ave., Evanston. Finney, a professor of creative writing at the University of Kentucky, is the author of four volumes of poetry — Head Off and Split, The World Is Round, Rice and On Wings Made of Gauze.
